Our Founder
Joel A. Aronowitz, MD, FACS
Dr. Joel Aronowitz has been one of the most reputable plastic surgeons of Beverly Hills, California for the past 30 years. He specializes in a variety of cosmetic procedures including scar removal, thigh lifts, face lifts, tummy tucks, and breast augmentations. Dr. Aronowitz incorporates innovative stem cell treatments into his procedures to provide his patients with the best possible experience. His professional ingenuity for solving the most complex plastic surgery problems is why he’s considered a “doctor’s doctor”—a go-to expert and surgeon for an informed and discerning clientele. As a leading clinical researcher in the use of stem cell technology for cosmetic rejuvenation and reconstruction, Dr. Aronowitz is frequently invited to speak at professional conferences across the globe.
Dr. Aronowitz’s professional philosophy emphasizes using the body’s own tissues and healing processes to regenerate damaged areas. His practice encompasses most areas of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery including breast surgery, facelift, and revision surgery. He is renowned for developing new regeneration methods that safely use non-embryonic fat stem cells to avoid the need for invasive surgery and foreign implants. All of Dr. Aronowitz’s clinical research is conducted with the highest standards at his fully equipped University Stem Cell Center.
An authority on breast cancer reconstruction techniques that preserve the patient’s natural aesthetic, Dr. Aronowitz teaches non-disfiguring breast cancer surgeries including stem cell breast reconstruction and nipple-sparing mastectomies. He regularly volunteers his time for charitable surgery. You can discover more about Dr. Aronowitz’s breast cancer work via the Breast Preservation Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting access to non-disfiguring breast cancer treatments to women across the country. Widely respected by colleagues internationally, Dr. Holmes is regularly called upon to educate other breast surgeons throughout the U.S. and Asia on the optimal treatment of breast cancer.
INNOVATOR. Dr. Holmes has gained international acclaim for his pioneering research in intraoperative radiotherapy, an innovative type of breast radiotherapy that replaces the usual 5-6 week course of daily breast radiotherapy normally given after lumpectomy, with a single, 30-minute radiotherapy treatment administered during surgery at the time of lumpectomy. In addition to making breast radiotherapy more convenient, intraoperative radiotherapy reduces radiation side effects on the breast, skin, arm, heart and lungs; prevents radiation-related fatigue; and helps women get back to their normal lifestyles much more quickly. Dr. Holmes is also the author and Principal Investigator of two national clinical trials employing the use of cryoablation (tumor freezing) instead of surgery for treatment of breast cancer. In keeping with his penchant for forging new frontiers, Dr. Holmes is pleased to join Lifetime TV as co-host of Access Health, a new national TV program focusing on innovations in medical, fitness and nutrition.
ADVOCATE. What most distinguishes Dr. Holmes is the high level of satisfaction expressed by his many patients.
